At Succeed Healthcare Solutions, we have embraced two types of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy - RO DBT and DBT as they suit different needs.
Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO DBT) is an evidence based treatment developed for people who suffer from emotional and behavioural over control including depression and anxiety. It is hypothesised to assist people with Autism and is currently being researched with this cohort. Over-controlled teens are serious about life, set high personal standards, and have perfectionistic tendencies, but inwardly they struggle to know how to make friends and feel connected with others. Therapy aims to help teens to relax rigid or inflexible control, learn to be playful, and decrease emotional loneliness. For further information see About RO DBT.
Training aims to:
- Increase openness to new experiences and feedback in order to learn
- Become more flexible to adapt to changing environments
- Enhance intimacy, social connectedness and ability to work in groups.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy can help tweens and teens struggling to cope with depression, anxiety, and chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. It is hypothesised to assist with Autism and is currently being researched. Concepts such as wise mind, mindfulness, distress tolerance, walking the middle path, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness are applied in a practical way. For more information see Behavioural Tech Core Evidence of DBT.
