Does your school aged young person need assistance with managing anxiety, anger or depression? Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) has been shown to have success in treating mood issues for children and youth with Autism. Succeed Healthcare Solutions teaches adaptive thoughts and social behaviour, using the autism-adapted modular evidence-based CBT program (UCLA’s MEYA). The treatment length is flexible from a few sessions to a few years of sessions for an hour per fortnight. This involves 45 minutes with the youth and 15 minutes with the carer.
Most types of clinical issues seen in children and youth with Autism including behavioural, emotional and friendship-related challenges are addressed. Treatment is personalised for each young person based on their presenting needs. The program also includes promoting independence in daily self-help skills and social communication, and addressing repetitive and under controlled behaviours. Social coaching for home and school is involved. Information is presented visually and uses the young persons' special interests. For more information see CBT intervention adapted for Autism.
