Paediatric chronic pain is estimated to affect 20 to 35% of children and adolescents. Whilst relatively common, it remains an under diagnosed and under treated condition in children. Untreated chronic pain in children presents a high risk of pain and psychological disorders later in life. Chronic pain is a combination of biological processes, psychological factors, and sociocultural variables.
