With the amount of time that young people now spend on devices, they are at increased risk of overuse issues and poor posture. In addition, a poor work station set up when studying and doing assignments can hinder academic performance, due to discomfort.
Our therapists will assess your young person's workstation (where they use computers or devices) either at home or at school, depending on the need. This will initially undertaken by the therapist analysing video footage taken by the family of the child working/playing at their workstation/using their devices. Next, a meeting is held between the therapist and carer/young person via videoconference with the findings, and additional assessment can be undertaken at that time. Next, the therapist makes recommendations in collaboration with the young person/carer.
In home assessments are only provided after the videoconference meeting if needed, as determined by the therapist. Ergonomic assessments in the home/school are only available (if agreed to by the therapist) for those families living in North Lakes and Mango Hill.
*Private hourly individual rate is $195. NDIS hourly individual rate is $193.99. Cost for the group assessment will average about $150 per hour including a complete customer experience tailored to your child's needs (break down of fee schedule to be provided upon enquiry). Travel time is charged according to the therapists time and kilometres travelled.
Please note that NDIS often expects families to pay for ergonomic equipment themselves as they see it as parental responsibility (even if other's disagree), so please don't ask our therapists to write a report to NDIS requesting funding for this. Then we can spend precious time on other activities. Often, useful changes can be made to a young person's workstation through changing how things are arranged or changing work habits.
