Roblox/Minecraft Gamers Club (for ages 8+):
Make new friends whilst gaming interactively together, with the support of an Occupational Therapist. Minecraft or Roblox account required.
Minecraft Gamers Club runs in a similar way to the well known Lego Therapy clubs, where the club members work as a team to agree upon a goal/project for the session and cooperate together to achieve the plan. Towards the end of the session, club members will have the opportunity to work on individual projects. This style of intervention promotes social interaction, as players need to communicate frequently to work towards their goal. Models drawn upon during game play include DIR Floortime, Social Thinking Methodology, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Secret Agent Society and PEERs. To help this be a safe space in a supportive community, the Club uses the Autcraft server, which is a Minecraft mod especially for people with Autism: https://www.autcraft.com/
